Hello!
I'm Kikusaburo from the NENE's store International Business Team.
Today, I'd like to share a quick update on our international expansion and introduce a couple of rare dog breeds we've come across while connecting with pet parents around the world.
Discovering New Breeds Around the World
As NENE's store continues to grow internationally, we've had the opportunity to connect with pet parents from many different countries.
Every country has its own unique lifestyle—from the size of homes to the way people spend time with their dogs and cats.
One of the most exciting parts of our work has been discovering dog breeds that are rarely seen in Japan.
Two Rare Dog Breeds We Recently Met
Among the many wonderful dogs we've encountered, two breeds especially caught our attention:
- Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever
- Coton de Tulear
Their names are definitely a bit of a mouthful—and not the easiest to remember!
But the more we learned about them, the more we fell in love with their unique personalities and charm.
In the next section, we'd like to introduce each breed and share a few simple tips for keeping their beautiful coats healthy and well-groomed.

What is the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever?
The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever is a dog breed that originated in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Also known as the “Toller,” this breed is loved for its beautiful reddish coat and charming white markings.
Originally bred to lure and retrieve waterfowl, Tollers are known to be highly intelligent, active, and full of energy.
Many of them enjoy walks, playing fetch, and even water activities, making them a wonderful match for families who love an active lifestyle.
Coat Care Tips
Active breeds like the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever often spend a lot of time playing outdoors.
Because of that, dirt and dust can easily get into their coat, and their fur may become tangled more easily.
Daily brushing helps keep the coat smooth and flowing, while also making it easier to notice changes in the skin or coat condition.
What is the Coton de Tulear?
The Coton de Tulear is a small dog breed that originated in Madagascar, off the coast of Africa.
The word “Coton” means “cotton” in French—and just as the name suggests, this breed is known for its soft, fluffy, cotton-like white coat.
Cotons are cheerful, friendly, and affectionate dogs who love staying close to their families.
They are also known as the “Royal Dog of Madagascar,” giving them an elegant and noble charm.
You could say they are truly royalty in the world of fluff.
Even their name and appearance feel a little refined and graceful.
Coat Care Tips
Fluffy breeds like the Coton de Tulear are incredibly adorable, but their soft coats can tangle easily.
Areas such as behind the ears, under the arms, around the belly, and around the legs are especially prone to mats.
Brushing too forcefully can put stress on your dog, so it is important to brush gently and little by little.
When brushing becomes a comfortable and pleasant moment instead of something your dog dislikes, daily care becomes much easier and more enjoyable for both you and your pup.
Healing Moments on Zoom with Pet Parents Overseas
As part of our international business, we sometimes have the opportunity to speak directly with pet parents overseas through Zoom.
During these calls, their dogs or cats occasionally make a little appearance on the screen.
And honestly, seeing them gently pop into the frame is incredibly heartwarming.
Since I spend much of my time working from home, these moments feel like a little reward.
Whether overseas or in Japan, hearing from people who live with dogs and cats is a very important time for NENE's store.
What challenges are they facing?
What kind of care feels easy to continue every day?
What moments make them feel, “I’m so glad I bought this”?
By listening to these real voices, we hope to continue improving our products and the way we share information with pet families around the world.

The Countdown Is Over — SHARMI Pre-Orders Are About to Begin!
At the end of May, we'll officially launch the exclusive pre-order campaign for our newest product:

Making Daily Brushing a Little More Gentle
One thing we've learned through connecting with pet parents around the world is that there's no single "right" way to care for a pet's coat.
Every dog and cat is unique.
Their breed, coat type, personality, and lifestyle all play a part in finding the care routine that works best for them.
That's why we believe it's so important to choose grooming that suits each individual pet.
At NENE's store, we'll continue sharing not only updates about our products, but also helpful tips and insights to make life with your furry family members even better.
We hope your daily brushing routine becomes a little gentler, a little easier, and a little more enjoyable—for both you and your beloved companion. 🧡
Thank you for reading!
See you again in the next post.
